Eileen Smith, Real Estate Foundation of BC

Eileen Smith, Chair
Appointed by the Real Estate Council of BC in 2008
As a governor of the Foundation, Eileen's job is to enhance good land stewardship by soundly reviewing grant applications and working with the board and CEO to ensure the finances of the Foundation are well managed. With over 40 years of experience in real estate, including managing a large real estate brokerage firm of 200 sales associates, and serving on several boards, Eileen brings a thorough knowledge of the real estate industry, good governance, and consensus building to the table. Eileen received her Real Estate Broker designation from UBC. Eileen gets a lot of joy from mentoring female entrepreneurs, travelling, and golfing.
 
"It was a tremendous learning curve when I came on the board and I really appreciate the opportunity to obtain more knowledge about sustainable land use, our environment, and our ability to 'lead learning'. It is the most challenging and fulfilling work I have done in my career."
 
Kelly Lerigny, Real Estate Foundation of BCKelly Lerigny, Vice-Chair
Appointed by the BC Real Estate Association in 2010
Kelly is a residential REALTOR® in the Chilliwack area with 22 years experience who shares the responsibilities of the Foundation's governance with the other board members. In her previous role as past president of the BC Real Estate Association, Kelly was the Quality of Life champion for the province and across Canada. Kelly's hobbies include boating, cooking, and searching for fine wines.
 
"The Foundation's goals are so aligned with my personal convictions about responsible and innovative land use and my passion for the environment that being a governor is a natural fit--it doesn't even seem like work."

 

Harpreet Bhatti, Real Estate Foundation of BC governorHarpreet Bhatti
Appointed by the BC Minister of Finance in 2011
Harpreet Bhatti, CGA is the president of a Certified General Accountant firm located in Surrey, which provides accounting and business consulting services to small and medium sized businesses in the Lower Mainland. A member of CGA-BC and CGA-Canada, she is enrolled at Laurentian University for her MBA. Harpreet is also currently a director and immediate past president of SEEDS, a non-profit organization providing training to individuals starting their own businesses. She is also involved with various other community organizations where she dedicates her time volunteering and sharing her experience.
 
"The Foundation's mission resonates strongly with my belief in the responsible use of land and its preservation for future generations. I am looking forward to being a part of the process of helping the Foundation meet its goals."
 
Stephen Mullock, Real Estate Foundation of BCStephen Mullock
Appointed by the Real Estate Institute of BC in 2006
Stephen is currently in his second three-year appointment by the Real Estate Institute of BC to the Real Estate Foundation. Along with the other governors, Stephen's role includes the difficult task of assigning limited financial resources to worthwhile grant applications. Stephen is also the current chair of the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Real Estate Institute of BC, past president and governor of the Real Estate Institute of BC, past president and director of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board, past chair of the Agassiz Library Society, and past director of the Chilliwack YMCA. With a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC and professional membership in the Real Estate Institute since 1983, Stephen has 30 years experience in the real estate industry. He brings a natural curiosity and a propensity for asking a lot of questions to the team.

Charles Scott, GovernorCharles Scott
Appointed by the BC Minister of Finance in 2011 
Charles owns a business consultancy in Prince George. He was an economic development professional for two decades, of which eight years were in commercial lending roles. Charles also teaches in the School of Business at the University of Northern BC, primarily in marketing, international business and entrepreneurship. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of BC, a Masters in Economic Development from Waterloo, and is pursuing a PhD in International Business at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Charles teaches Sunday School and volunteers with various community groups on their major events.
