Ninety-eight grants were approved
from January to December 2005. The total amount of grants approved
was $2,959,981. This summary lists the recipients and a brief
description of their projects. Grants are organized according
to the Foundation's purposes, as described in the Real Estate
Services Act (i.e., Research, Public Education, Professional
Education, Law Reform, and Other Real Estate Related). Those approved under
the Communities in Transition program are highlighted

INVENTORY & MAPPING

development of the Kamloops-South Thompson Land Use and Habitat

$20,000 - City of Revelstoke for development of a retail
strategy, which will take into account future development at
the proposed Mount Mackenzie Resort and the Citys downtown

$25,000 - Urban Futures Institute to research the impacts
of recreation and resort property market growth in the Columbia
Valley. This project is being undertaken in partnership with
the Real Estate Foundations Communities in Transition Secretariat.
$35,000 - Tourism Action Society in the Kootenays phase
two in the production of a compendium of technical information
to foster environmental stewardship among nature-based tourism
and recreation businesses.

to develop The Open Space Toolkit for Southeastern BC.

a conservation poll in the Columbia Basin.
