The Action
Spearheaded by the Chamber of Commerce, a representative group
of 13 people were brought together. Through several meetings
the basics of the strategy were established. The projects that
would form the basis of this strategy were presented at a Public
Open House and Workshop, with 75 residents in attendance.
The main facilitator of the strategy was the Chamber of Commerce
which can function as the agency that reviews, oversees and reports
on specific projects. This agency, along with Okanagan Falls'
host of community organizations, strong sense of community identity,
well developed network of volunteers and earnest desire to improve
the economic well-being of the community, reinforced the necessity
of this economic development strategy and made a committment
to its success.
