The Action

The strategies and processes were built on a foundation of learning from the past (historical context), public input and resulted in a series of recommendations. These strategies included the formation of a downtown committee speficially dedicated to this project, a study methoology of listening to the community. This involved formal committee hearings, meetings with community groups, input from the general public, public forum and special events.

This planning process resulted in a set of strategies which include a downtown commission, marketing, enhancing the built environment and addressing several social concerns.
