Green Building Grant

Testing a photovoltaic panel, Smithers BC (One Sky)The Green Building Grant Program was established by the Real Estate Foundation and Vancity Credit Union to minimize the impacts of climate change and improve sustainable land use practices by supporting green building initiatives in British Columbia. The overall goal of the funding program is to reduce CO2 emissions resulting from settlement activity. The program was launched in 2004.

 
Each year, the Program will provide one or more grants (up to $50,000 each) to qualified recipients, totaling at least $100,000. All not-for-profit organizations, including charitable organizations and cooperatives, are eligible to apply. See the grant application form for more information. [2011 application form]
 
The next application deadline is January 24, 2011. Grants will be awarded in spring 2011.
