Governors' Page

In my view the most significant initiative has been the work the Foundation does in partnership with real estate boards and associations, and other non-profit organizations to provide housing for those individuals in our province who are truly in need of assistance. In 1999 alone, over $1 million in grants was awarded for construction and renovation of shelters and residences serving youth, women, seniors, and low-income singles and families. Real estate practitioners throughout the province can be proud of the results achieved by the Foundation's work in this area.
This is just one example of a number of initiatives that the Foundation has taken to improve the quality of life in BC communities. I trust and hope that more of my colleagues in the real estate industry will get actively involved in their own communities and do the same. Giving help to those who need it is the right thing to do.
Since this is my final report as the outgoing Chairman and Governor of the Real Estate Foundation of BC, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to BCREA, its member boards and associations, and to the Foundation Governors and staff, for their support.
